چکیده
Abstract. The persistence over space and time of flash flood disasters – floods that have caused either economical losses or loss life both is a diagnostic measure areas subjected to hydrological risk. concept can be assessed via clustering analyses, performed here analyze the national inventory in China occurred period 1950–2015. Specifically, we investigated spatiotemporal pattern distribution their behavior by using global local methods: first based on Ripley's K function, second scan statistics. As result, could visualize patterns aggregated events, estimate cluster duration make assumptions about evolution time, also with respect precipitation trend. Due large spatial (the whole Chinese territory) temporal (66 years) scale dataset, were able capture whether certain clusters gather specific locations times but magnitude tends increase decrease. Overall, eastern regions are much more compared rest country. Detected revealed these phenomena predominantly occur between July October, coinciding wet season China. number detected increases associated drastically decreases recent period. This may indicate change towards triggering mechanisms which typical short-duration extreme rainfall events. Finally, being directly linked realization, indirectly trigger itself has varied through enabling considerations context climatic change.

In this paper the catastrophic and extraordinary floods occurring in Barcelona County (Catalonia, NE Spain) are studied, in order to characterise the temporal evolution of extreme flash floods in that area and their main features. These events usually cause economical losses and major problems for undertaking daily activity in Barcelona city. This kind of floods is a very common feature in the ...
متن کاملPrecipitation in a Changing Climate– More Floods and Droughts in the Future
Evidence is building that human-induced climate change— or global warming—has a direct influence on changes in precipitation and the hydrological cycle. While precipitation amount is most commonly considered, even bigger changes occur in its intensity, frequency and type (rain vs. snow). A warmer climate increases risks of both drought and flood, but at different times and/or places. These aspe...
متن کاملSimulation of Tsunami and Flash Floods
Impacts to the built environment from hazards such tsunami or flash floods are critical in understanding the economic and social effects on our communities. In order to simulate the behaviour of water flow from such hazards within the built environment, Geoscience Australia and the Australian National University are developing a software modelling tool for hydrodynamic simulations. The tool is ...
متن کاملMental models of flash floods and landslides.
Perceptions of flash floods and landslides were analyzed in four communities of the Bavarian Alps using the mental model approach. Thirty-eight qualitative interviews, two telephone surveys with 600 respondents, and two onsite interviews (74/95 respondents) were conducted. Mental models concerning flash floods are much better developed than those for landslides because the key physical processe...
